Join us as Counsel, Technology & Corporate Transactions, UK & EMEA (F/H/X) take on key responsibilities within a world-class Legal Department.

This role, based in Paris, will serve as the Corporate Administrative Legal team’s focal point and lead lawyer for procurement activity in the region.  The role will also support technology transactions in the U.S., under the supervision of a U.S.-based lawyer.

AIG’s Global Legal, Compliance, Regulatory and Government Affairs (GLCR) department is comprised of attorneys and other professionals providing high-quality advisory and transactional support with integrity and objectivity across all parts of the organization. The team ensures an operating environment that minimizes legal, regulatory and reputational risks and complies with all laws and regulations and AIG policies & procedures.

How you will create an impact

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, negotiate and advise on a range of technology, digital, data and outsourcing  strategic programs and procurements being implemented in the UK and EMEA, and the U.S.
  • Draft, negotiate and advise on a range of non-IT procurement in the UK and EMEA
  • Work closely with internal business clients and GLCR colleagues to identify, assess, and advise on – and structure and negotiate AIG’s contracts to ensure that our contracts reflect – various regulatory questions and requirements regarding technology and outsourcing transactions.
  • Responsible for management of day-to-day legal queries and business transactions within UK and EMEA. Engaging and coordinating with outside counsel to assist with IT and non-IT transactions in the region.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Authorized to practice law in France or another country in the EU
  • several years of law firm or in-house experience with a concentration on real estate transactions
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English and ideally in another European language (French, German, Italian, Spanish)
  • A leader who collaborates effectively with colleagues at all levels of the Company, including senior executives, and across different functions to drive optimal outcomes
  • The ability to work well under pressure and independently, with demonstrated time and change management skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Sound judgment and good business sense, including the ability to provide tailored, practical advice based on context
