Job Summary: The Sr. Accountant will take on a leadership role within the accounting team, contributing to all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as budget and forecasts preparation. You will also be responsible for improving systems and procedures and initiating corrective actions. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy of accounting information by researching account issues for compliance and by establishing quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to mentor junior staff, ensuring the highest level of financial reporting and control. Responsibilities: Financial Reporting • Prepare and review financial statements • Analyze and interpret financial data • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations • Communicate financial results to management and stakeholders Budgeting and Forecasting • Assist in creating annual budget • Monitor budget variances and provide explanations • Prepare financial forecasts • Identify and recommend cost saving opportunities Audit and Tax Compliance • Coordinate and assist with external audits • Prepare and submit tax returns and comply with tax regulations • Maintain accurate and organized records for audits and tax purposes Financial Analysis and Planning • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision making • Develop financial models and scenarios to support strategic planning • Perform cost benefit analysis for potential investments or projects Process Improvement • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions • Streamline accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy • Ensure internal controls are in place and followed Stakeholder Relationship Management • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to gather financial information • Respond to inquiries and provide financial expertise to support decision making • Foster positive relationships with clients, vendors, and other external stakeholders. Qualifications: • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field with at least 4 years experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. • Strong skills in accounting software, advanced Excel capabilities, and familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. • The ability to analyze complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations. • Experience in leading and mentoring junior staff, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects. • A thorough understanding of GAAP, tax codes, and financial regulations. • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities for reporting financial information to management and stakeholders. • Precision and attention to detail are crucial for ensuring the accuracy of financial records and reports. Preferred Qualifications: • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or similar certification, such as CMA (Certified Management Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
