What You Will Do:

  • Evaluate the performance of automatic MeSH indexing.
  • Support the analysis of large data sets of GUI and API user log data from PubMed in order to evaluate the impact of automated indexing.
  • Predict what changes to the algorithm or vocabulary are needed in order to improve indexing efficacy.
  • Perform other data analysis and systems development support duties as assigned.


What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor Degree and Minimum of FOUR (4) years of relevant experience. (Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree)
  • Prior knowledge and experience writing code/scripting for parallel processing.
  • Prior knowledge and experience employing computational strategies for analysis of large datasets.
  • Fluency with data analytic libraries and paradigms in at least one programming language, preferably pandas in Python or tidyverse/dplyr in R.
  • Ability to obtain an NIH badge.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Masters Degree
  • Knowledge of MeSH vocabulary is desired.
  • Experience with Java programming language is desired.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and biomedical languages, keep up with the internal systems, and share your knowledge with the team.
