Job Description Summary:

The mammographer is responsible for producing good quality exams in a timely manner while practicing good patient care and maintaining accurate patient records. He/She assures the Mammography program meets all FDA Mammography Quality Standards Act and American College of Radiology requirements and standards.

Maintains confidentiality of log-on password(s) and security of other authentication devices (e.g., key fobs, proximity devices, etc.).
Ensures privacy and security of information entrusted to their care.
Uses company business assets and information resources for management-approved purposes only.
Adheres to all information privacy and security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Promptly reports information security incidents to the OhioHealth Information Security Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Conducts Mammograms; Escorts patient to the room, completes proper documentation, and explains procedure to patient prior to mammogram procedure. Takes images for interpretation.  Verifies images are of good technical quality.

Assists radiologist with stereotactic biopsy and needle localizations to include: machine calibration, sterile field set-up, explaining procedure to patient, offering consolation and ensuring comfort to the patient during procedure.

Performs quality control and assurance practices.  Schedules preventative maintenance and calibration on equipment and schedules necessary repairs.  Assures all mammography manuals are kept up-to-date.  Keeps accurate and current QC logs to document variances, investigates and corrects any abnormal QC occurrences.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handles or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific Vision abilities required by this job include close Vision, distance Vision, and color Vision.  Work environment while performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of radiation.  The noise level in the Work environment is usually moderate.
