The Role

In this exciting role, you balance your technical skills with your business skills by providing hands on cloud technical operation and innovation while actively engaging with customers to support our cloud strategy and business development. In this role, you are a cloud go-to person for both technology and value proposition.

To successfully deliver this you need to equally enjoy being technical savvy, customer focused and business oriented.

As a consultant you will be responsible for the delivery of cloud services to existing and new customer base, with focus on client facing cloud platform solution. You will proactively assist in providing cloud platform assessment and assurance services. You will work closely with our customer Success & Consultancy team to oversee and manage the delivery of our services aligned to best practice. You will need to understand customer challenges and industry drivers, support the development of a vision and roadmap of a cloud solution that addresses customer requirements.

This is a customer-facing role that requires self-motivated individuals with strong business and technical knowledge along with solid consultative and communication skills to position AspenTech solutions and services with our customers.

Your Impact

  • Act as a business partner to the sales team in short-, mid- and long-term planning activities.
  • Deliver presentations and perform solution demonstrations for customers as required.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain cloud environments on Microsoft Azure and AWS following AspenTech standards and procedures.
  • Respond to cloud solution Requests for Information/Proposal/Quote (RFI/RFP/RFQ) questionnaires as required.
  • Delivers product insight and strategy advice for sales enablement, communication, and training initiatives.
  • Apply consultative skills in customer-facing engagements to identify customer problems, understand their business and operational issues, and establish a credible value proposition.
  • Liaising with those developing products/services to gain an in-depth knowledge that you can relate to customers – and to share user behavior and/or any potential changes clients would like.
  • Respond to incidents logged in the Incident Management system and provide technical solution within Service Level Agreements.
  • Work with internal business units to research, evaluate, test, pilot, document, implement and transition into support teams’ new cloud-based solutions.
  • Lead cloud technical competency with ability to provide technical advisory and conduct training on cloud related issues - both on products and technology.
  • Pro-actively evaluate cloud technology trends, competitive positioning, and emerging products.

What You'll Need

  • Experience as pre-sales in areas of IT and public cloud (Azure and AWS) infrastructure with relevant certifications to support.  
  • A minimum of a BS in computer science, Technology, Engineering or equivalent Industry recognized IT/cloud qualifications and/or A minimum of 8+ years of Experience in supporting complex Microsoft Azure and/or AWS cloud-based infrastructure (Computer, Network, Storage), delivering projects and associated changes.
  • Solid understanding of IT, cloud IaaS/PaaS security and best practice.
  • Experience and skills in developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences and achieving buy-in from middle management (Supervisors, Managers, Directors).
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to make clear observations and conclusions based on customer’s interaction and data.
  • Possess analytical skill and able to translate technology into business ideas and articulate them in writing and verbally in the form of a business plan.
  • Aptitude for time management and organization with ability to manage multiple responsibilities and competing priorities.
