Shift Available: Full Time (40 hours/week) 4-10's
OU Health's Vascular Access Department is growing as the new state-of-the-art adult patient tower has opened. This department boasts a fast-paced environment providing care to patients in various stages of their health care needs. On average the department does 400 to 500 lines a month. RNs in this department have large support from both Care Team Associates and Health Unit Coordinators. The Vascular Access Nurse's and APP's (Advance Practice Providers) work in teams to provide high quality line care.
General Description:
Under general supervision, provides PICC Line Placement and Infusion education in the PICC program.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred Successful completion of “Vascular Access Device Selection, Insertion and Management” online course offered by Bard Access Systems within six months of hire.
Experience: One (1) year experience with PICC Line placement preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have current knowledge of nursing role in PICC Line placement. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees. Good verbal and written communication skills. Some computer skills.
