The Opportunity

The Senior Marketing Manager, Digital Solutions works in Sylmar, CA in the Medical Devices Division.

The Senior Marketing Manager, Digital Solutions role reports the Product Director, Digital Solutions.  This is a highly visible role that will interact with senior leadership on a regular basis.

Our medical devices help more than 10,000 people have healthier hearts, improve quality of life for thousands of people living with chronic pain and movement disorders, and liberate more than 500,000 people with diabetes from routine fingersticks.

In this role you will be responsible for leading the development and launch of critical product lines within Digital Solutions.   You will also be responsible for helping to design and deliver our marketing strategy.

As a product champion, you will be the hub for product and market knowledge, planning/execution, and achievement of business objectives. You will have full responsibility for your products, from identification of global customer and market needs/wants, concept and product development, to product launch and life cycle management.

You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders internally, as well as external partners, to build our next generation digital offerings.

The Digital Solutions organization reports in the Medical Devices group and is responsible for leveraging digitally enabled technology to increase patient access to care and provide our customers with best-in-class experiences that support our collective mission to improve patient outcomes.

What You’ll Work On

Portfolio and Strategy

  • Owner of one or more portfolio product line
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans, including analysis of the competitive environment, product positioning, and market analysis.
  • Build out business opportunities and business cases for your products.
  • Monitor customer, competitor, and industry trends to identify innovation opportunities.

Product Management

  • Be the Product Champion for key product lines within Digital Solutions portfolio.
  • Lead customer research and product/service ideation, design, and testing.
  • Deeply understand key moments in clinician and patient journeys.  Translate research and data into personas, journey maps, service-design blueprints, features, and requirements.
  • Collaborate and brainstorm with cross-business unit and cross-functional teams (including Designers, Engineers, Marketing, Clinical, Finance, R&D, and Regulatory)
  • Represent the customer and drive a customer-driven mindset as input to R&D and other functions throughout the product development cycle (e.g., developing customer requirements)
  • Build strong relationships with leading KOLs around the globe. Manage physician advisory boards, congress/symposium, and other KOL engagement activities.

Downstream Marketing

  • Build out product launch plans and lead the execution of launch activities.
  • Support the digital solutions and medical device division commercial organizations in achieving sales plans and forecasts for relevant products within the portfolio.
  • Build marketing communications and educational materials - develop resources, programs, and any other collateral material required to support sales and key marketing messages.
  • Drive market development activities through best practices and development of tools to raise awareness of the benefits of the digital solutions products.
  • Ensure launch and post-launch success; offer leadership to commercial organizations and on-market teams.
  • Ongoing monitoring, measurement, and improvement of products through their life cycles

Leadership

  • Mentor and coach others in the team to build a strong and productive culture.
  • Spearhead process and system improvements to build a best-in-class marketing competence within our team.
  • Present to senior leadership, customers, and across Abbott.
  • Help us to build a best-in-class marketing approach – from building our brand strategy to digital marketing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years product management and / or downstream marketing experience
  • Comfortable with both upstream and downstream marketing activities
  • Experience working with technical products and teams, particularly in areas related to digital and / or data management products and services.
  • Creative problem solver, agile mindset
  • Takes initiative, drives innovation and change.
  • Proven ability to manage to plan and resolve issues. Effectively clarify issues and actions
  • Polished communicator- written documentation and oral presentations/ discussions/ meetings
  • Excellent reputation for building relationships across various levels of an organization
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and changing environment and work with minimal direction.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to execute with quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or other related advanced degree
  • Data Science or EHR related expertise
  • Power BI or data visualization expertise
  • Experience in digital health technology, preferably in the health or medical space.

Travel 20%+ of the time

The base pay for this position is

$125,700.00 – $251,500.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
