Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign the functions to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. Job functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Sweep, mop, and scrub all shop floors.
• Empty trash and garbage containers on a daily basis.
• Clean and wash walls, shop windows, door panels and sills.
• Clean lint, dust, oil and grease from shop equipment and benches.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines and equipment.
• Arrange boxes, material, and hand trucks or other industrial equipment in a neat and orderly manner.
• Cleane and maintain the wash bay areas.
• Other duties may be assigned to maintain cleanliness for the service department.
• Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules.
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.  

JOB SCOPE

This position serves in the capacity of the Janitor.  General discretion and judgement is exercised routinely in the execution of job duties.  If errors in judgement or professional execution of responsibilities are made, the department could be negatively impacted.

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS

Internal contacts include all levels of staff and managers working at the same Peterson location. This includes but is not limited to parts, service, and sales department employees and managers. External contacts include customers, vendors, or others who enter the job site.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED; and good previous work record.  Previoius custodial/janitorial experience is preffered. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Ability to become lift truck certified

The Pay Range for this Position is $21.75-$25.01
