With a global manufacturing footprint and a broad portfolio of process technologies, GlobalFoundries enables customers to create products that power today’s most essential applications across automotive, industrial, infrastructure, and mobile markets.

Summary of Role

The Business Unit Demand Planner is a key member of the Business Finance – Business Unit Demand Planning team and is responsible for owning and delivering the Business Unit Owned Forecast (BUOF) in a monthly, device-level, bottoms-up format. The role partners closely with Business Unit leadership to consolidate, validate, and analyze demand inputs to produce an accurate, transparent forecast that reflects BU expectations, market dynamics, and business objectives.

The mission of this role is to continuously improve forecast accuracy and cycle-over-cycle performance, standardize the BUOF process across Business Units, and communicate clear insights on demand drivers, risks, and opportunities to leadership. The BUOF serves as a foundational input to Consensus Demand Planning (CDP), Revenue Performance Management, and Master Production schedule, supporting downstream planning integrity and enterprise decision-making. The Demand Planner will incorporate Market Intelligence, Long Range Plan (LRP) inputs, and sales funnel information to strengthen assumptions and improve forecast quality.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and Maintain the BUOF: Lead the creation, consolidation, and finalization of the BU Owned Forecast on a monthly, device-level, bottoms-up basis reflecting BU demand expectations, market trends, and business objectives.
  • Data Collection, Market Intelligence & Analysis: Gather, validate, and analyze demand inputs and leading indicators to produce the BUOF, including DWINS, TOs, OC/PCs, LTAs, fab splits, new ramps, historical shipment trends, ASPs, Market Intelligence, internal LRP references, and sales funnel data.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with BU General Managers, Product Marketing, and Finance to align on forecast assumptions and targets; collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, CDP Demand Planning, and RPM teams to ensure alignment and drive gaps to closure.
  • Forecast Accuracy & Continuous Improvement: Monitor forecast performance, identify variances, and implement improvements to enhance forecast accuracy and reliability with emphasis on cycle-over-cycle changes.
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare and present BUOF updates to leadership, ensuring transparency and clarity around forecast drivers, risks, opportunities, and sensitivities.
  • Process Ownership & Standardization: Define, document, and continuously improve the BUOF planning process across Business Units, including timelines, deliverables, data requirements, and criteria for forecast inclusions versus exclusions.
  • Risk Identification & Mitigation: Proactively identify and communicate risks to achieving BUOF targets and safeguard downstream planning integrity for CDP, RPM, and MPS.

Other Responsibilities

  • Drive enhancements to analytical tools and process automations to streamline BUOF planning and reporting across Business Units.
  • Support development and improvement of Anaplan BUOF models, Power BI dashboards, and Kinaxis integrations.
  • Contribute to enterprise demand planning standardization efforts and best-practice development in partnership with the CDP Demand Planning team.
  • Support training, documentation, and knowledge sharing to build BU demand planning expertise and leadership bench strength.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience in demand planning, forecasting, business finance, analytics, or related planning roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large, complex data sets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, or complex supply chain environments.
