Position: Part-Time Changeover Laborer

Reports To: Conversion Manager

FLSA Status: Part-Time Hourly

OVERVIEW

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an opening for part-time Changeover Laborer at Cabarrus Arena & Events Center. Under general supervision, this position performs work as needed to clean, maintain, and prepare for events at the facility. Duties include skilled and semi-skilled tasks, which often require heavy lifting and a high degree of physical activity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform all aspects of the setup and conversion process in preparation for events. Duties may include setting up and removing tables, chairs, operable walls, barricades, stages, flooring, furnishings, and equipment.
  • Perform various duties to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility are met. These include but are not limited to loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash and recycling to proper disposal area and replenishing supplies.
  • Perform light maintenance tasks such as painting, and patching.
  • Report irregularities, discrepancies, damage, and loss of property and safety concerns promptly to supervisor.
  • Ability to use appropriate equipment and supplies to clean and maintain the facility.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Operations worker experience is preferred.
  • Forklift, aerial work platform, scissor lift experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, or holidays is preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Provide outstanding customer service, at-all-times, to internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to event set up & conversion, typical methods and techniques for cleaning and maintaining the facility.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, and patrons.
  • Follow all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations, and emergency procedures established at the facility.
  • Meet the physical demand of the job, must perform strenuous physical duties at times, including lifting, carrying, moving, and climbing.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Work independently, exercising judgement and initiative.
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Must be able to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility, to stand for long hours and to talk and hear.
  • Performing work through repetitive hand/eye coordination.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk extensively; and is required to push and/or pull wheeled carts. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Work under adverse indoor/outdoor conditions and exposure to dust, dirt, and cleaning agents.
