About the position

The Content & Programming Team ensures all content made available on Samsung TV Plus is of high quality, relevant, editorially justified and strategically aligned. The team provides end-to end ownership of content as it arrives and lives within Samsung TV Plus. The team will focus on taking a holistic view of the service which will enable us to have a clear view of what we can do to improve the service.
The Content and Programming Managers will work very closely with the Programming and Editorial Lead & Head to support in the creation of content strategies and then execute.

A significant area of focus for the Content and Programming Managers will be to handle the planning and scheduling of a growing number of owned and operated channels that are exclusive to the product, using both Amagi and SRT as outsource partners.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and analytical skills, a deep commercial understanding of content, and the ability to work effectively in a cross-territorial environment.

Role and Responsibilities

Your key Responsibilities

  • To work alongside the Content Merchandising team and keep them informed of new content and channels coming down the line so that the team can plan and curate accordingly.

  • To make key content, scheduling and marketing recommendations for our owned and operated channels to maximise audience potential

  • To manage our channel, outsource partners ensuring that the quality of output is as we would expect. Hold regular business reviews with them to harness the best from the relationships.

  • Conduct monthly reviews of our Mixed O&O’s which should include a deep dive into performance, inventory and acquisition plans/ strategy.

  • Determine content schedules and programming logic

  • Provide regular data and insights into channels for SLT

  • To oversee the channel forecasting workflow ensuring that it is used in the right way to achieve accurate forecasting of new channels.

  • Monitor ROI and Revenues – work with Curation and Marketing to push where needed

  • Implement data-driven approaches to continuously refine content strategies and achieve measurable improvements in key performance metrics

  • To work closely with the business development and acquisitions teams to identify and source new content for owned and operated channels in order to keep the content proposition fresh

  • Track content delivery timelines, expiration dates, and maintain meticulous records to proactively manage renewals and optimize content performance

  • To review and approve new third-party channel propositions for inclusion on TV Plus, working in partnership with the business development and ads teams to gauge suitability

  • Managing content rotations and channel refresh cadence

  • Work with tech ops in improvements to metadata

  • To develop and manage positive working relationships with colleagues, content partners and other teams within Samsung and be able to give and take constructive feedback when needed

What we need for this role

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Strong experience in channel programming, content scheduling or media planning within a broadcast, FAST, VOD or TV environment

  • Proven ability to interpret performance data (ROI, revenue, audience metrics) and translate insights into actionable programming decisions.

  • Commercially astute with the ability to balance editorial judgement with revenue and performance targets.

  • Experience building and managing content schedules with a clear understanding of programming logic and audience flow.

  • Ability to influence partners and internal teams to optimise channel performance.

  • Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
