Position Summary
As the Associate Creative Director for Yahoo Sports, you will play a key role in shaping the creative vision and executing impactful marketing strategies that elevate the Yahoo Sports brand across diverse platforms. Reporting to the Head of Marketing Studio, you’ll collaborate with the Sports Marketing, Business Vertical leads, and Sports Product teams to develop and execute integrated campaigns that resonate with our passionate sports audience. Whether it’s a new product feature, campaign, or fan-focused initiative, you’ll immerse yourself in the details to confidently guide the creative direction, ensuring brand integrity and alignment with Yahoo Sports' objectives to drive fan engagement and business growth. As a player-coach, you’ll lead by example, inspiring your team and stepping in to support them wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Leadership: Inspire and guide the creative team to develop innovative, high-impact campaigns that embody the Yahoo Sports brand and resonate with sports fans and fantasy players.
Campaign Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and execute integrated campaigns across channels like social media, digital display, email marketing, and more.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all deliverables meet brand standards, engage the audience, and adhere to Yahoo Sports’ goals.
Agency Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners, manage project kick-offs, and take responsibility for their success, ensuring all work exceeds expectations.
Creative Brief Development: Partner with marketing teams to craft clear, concise creative briefs that align with business objectives and set the stage for impactful campaigns.
Trend Monitoring: Stay ahead of sports industry trends, emerging technologies, and audience behavior, integrating relevant insights to keep our creative work fresh and forward-thinking.
Creative Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality control of all creative outputs, ensuring they meet or exceed Yahoo’s brand guidelines and standards, while driving audience engagement and achieving measurable results.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a creative leadership role, ideally within the sports, entertainment, or consumer tech industries.
A strong portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of creative campaigns, with experience in engaging sports or entertainment audiences.
Understanding of full-funnel marketing strategies and the ability to develop compelling narratives that engage and inspire sports fans and fantasy players.
Passion for sports, with an in-depth understanding of sports culture, fan behavior, and the needs of fantasy sports players.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing external agency partners to drive creative initiatives.
Exceptional project management, communication, and collaboration skills.
Deep knowledge of design principles, branding, and visual storytelling.
Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.).
Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate creative concepts clearly and persuasively to stakeholders.
Analytical mindset, using insights to inform and guide effective creative decisions.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Skilled at building deep partnerships across the business and contributing to strategic planning efforts.
Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or related field.

The compensation for this position ranges from $110,625.00 - $230,625.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
