Job Description:

The Global Client Group (GCG) leads Dimensional's efforts to acquire long-term client relationships and increase the firm's reach in the marketplace. Using a team-based, collaborative system, GCG distributes the firm's financial science-based products and peerless client services across the globe. Working closely with both institutions and financial advisors, GCG seeks to help clients meet their business goals and deliver a better investment experience.  

GCG Operations supports the day-to-day operational needs of the sales and distribution channels in the areas of business insights, technology product management, intermediary relationships, client onboarding, reporting and administrative support.  The overarching goal of the GCG Operations divisions and this role is to provide an excellent client experience across all client interactions.

The role of the Associate, Global Client Group Operations will be to support the management of new client account on-boardings and the identification and resolution of client operational matters.  Day to day work will focus on managing client account onboardings from initial client inquiry to funding, internal coordination of large cash flows into separately managed accounts and new mutual fund and CIT accounts, and coordinating work across departments at Dimensional to resolve client operational matters. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with managing new account onboardings for direct mutual fund clients, separately managed accounts and CITs from client account initiation through funding, coordinating account set-up across internal departments and with clients
  • Support the contracting process for Dimensional’s newly-launched low-minimum separately managed account and UMA business (“DSMA” & “UMA”)
  • Monitor overall service delivery for client onboardings related to separately managed accounts, mutual funds and CITs to identify and implement process improvements 
  • Support timely issue resolution by engaging with internal subject matter experts and stakeholders across departments within Dimensional
  • Coordinate client cash flow notifications from direct clients and third party financial advisors using Dimensional products in their practice with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop strong working relationships across internal departments to deliver excellent client service 
  • Assist with ad hoc requests as needed

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related field required 
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial services operations, preferably in serving high-net-worth or institutional clients. Experience in asset management, including portfolio or trading operations is preferred. 
  • Proactive desire to learn
  • Experience in a client-facing function, including excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to articulately present information to clients and identify and escalate issues to senior management 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Results and detail-oriented, capable of prioritizing multiple assignments in fast-paced environment to meet deadlines 
  • Strong MS Excel skills, and experience with CRM software (Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce) preferred 
  • Active Series 7 or ability to complete the exam within the first 6 months
