Business Overview:

Spread Products (SP) is part of Citi’s Markets business (“Markets”). SP has a presence in thirteen countries across North America, Latin America, Asia, Europe, Australia, and Japan: focusing on a wide array of products including corporate, asset-backed securities, loans, derivatives, structured products and financings. In addition, SP provides its clients with a diverse suite of underwriting, advisory, financing and liquidity services and makes strategic fintech investments through its Spread Products Investments in Technologies program.

In-Business Control Analyst:

SP is seeking an In Business Control Officer for its In-Business Control team (IBC) in Tampa, FL. IBC is part of the SP Chief Operating Officer’s (COO) organization, compromised of IBC, Business Execution, Product Development, and Financial Reporting Teams. IBC is a first line of defense function that manages the SP risk and control framework and monitors compliance with laws, regulations, and Citi policies and procedures. IBC also helps to implement the supervisory, risk assessment and compliance procedures required in SP to address market conduct and other operational risks associated with the business. IBC works closely with SP businesses to address regulatory, compliance and audit matters, and firmwide transformation efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of the SP business, processes, systems and controls
  • Understand Citi policies and procedures and how they apply to SP
  • Work closely with Business, Operations, Technology, Legal, Compliance and other control partners to implement and monitor a consistent operational control framework
  • Prepare presentation materials and metrics for business reviews and governance meetings
  • Assess progress against strategic and transformation objectives - communicating key risks, defining mitigation strategies, and helping to oversee remediation efforts
  • Develop and implement new or improved controls and processes to address weaknesses or gaps in SP’s operational risk environment
  • Identify trends, synergies and inconsistencies in controls across products and regions
  • Develop, analyze and maintain key business metrics used to monitor operational risk performance of individuals, desks and businesses in SP

Qualifications and Skills:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent from accredited university or college in US or abroad
  • 3-10 years of experience in finance, consulting, compliance, legal or similar control function
  • Familiarity with financial markets and products, a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-reliant problem solver with attention to detail
  • Ability to handle complex and time-sensitive tasks
  • Project management experience, a plus
