In this position, you will support manufacturing operations by developing, sustaining, and improving injection molding processes used in the production of medical devices.
Responsibilities Include:
Provide technical and sustaining engineering support for injection molding manufacturing processes
Support Senior and Principal Molding Engineers in: process development and optimization, mold flow analysis, mold design reviews, molding process troubleshooting, equipment qualification and validation (IQ, OQ, PQ)
Apply basic knowledge of scientific molding principles to support stable, capable, and compliant processes
Recommend and implement process and equipment improvements to meet quality standards and improve manufacturing efficiency, yields, and robustness
Integrate equipment, tooling, and material capabilities to meet process module and technology target specifications
Review product development requirements to assess manufacturing feasibility, cost, and schedule impacts
Partner with Product Development, Quality, Operations, and Supplier teams to ensure manufacturing processes are compatible with product design requirements
Support data collection, documentation, and statistical analysis to evaluate process performance and capability
Contribute to the development, innovation, and optimization of new manufacturing processes for transfer to manufacturing
Includes feasibility studies, material selection, process and equipment selection, tooling and fixture support, and equipment installation
Support the development and application of statistical process control (SPC) methodologies and measurement systems
Ensure processes and procedures comply with Medtronic Quality System requirements and applicable regulatory standards
Must Have: Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 2 years related experience OR
Advanced Degree with 0 years of related work experience
Nice to Have: Preferred Qualifications
Experience with injection molding processes and manufacturing equipment
Exposure to scientific molding, moldflow analysis, or mold design review activities
Experience supporting process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) in a regulated environment
Familiarity with medical device manufacturing or other highly regulated industries
Working knowledge of SPC, DOE, and process capability analysis
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
