AriensCo is excited to be hiring a Journeyworker Tool & Die Maker on 2nd or 3rd shift at our Brillion, WI location! In this role, you’ll lay out, machine, fit, assemble, and finish high-quality stamping dies, gauges, and fixtures that support our manufacturing excellence
This position is available on second or third shift, with training conducted on first shift.
DAY TO DAY...
Find design flaws prior to tool build and correct them accordingly
Compute dimensions, plans machining operations, layout, and assembly operations
Utilize machining software programs to use or construct CAD data to build tool paths for CNC machining
Set up and operate machine tools such as saws, lathes, milling machines, radial drill presses, shapers, welders and punch grinders, to machine parts to specifications, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications
Program and operate CNC mills and lathes, as well as Wire EDM machines
Measure, mark, and scribe metal stock for machining by other workers
Lifts machined parts and position them for assembly on worktable or surface plate
Verify dimensions, clearances, and alignments of members and parts in die
Work out on the production floor and accurately troubleshoot problems with stamping tooling and fixtures, make recommendations, and act on recommendations
Works to tolerances as close as .0001
Fit and assemble cam operated mechanisms for lateral movement of part of die
Connect wiring and hydraulic lines to install electric and hydraulic component.
Dismantle die and repair or replace parts
QUALIFICATIONS...
Completion of a State Licensed Journeyworker Apprenticeship Program required
Experience reading blueprints of dies and part prints, die models, templates, and prototype parts and visualizes shape, mechanical structure, and operation of die
Ability to construct tooling without blueprints from a Tool Designer, and is capable of working independently with no managerial supervision
Ability to read resultant “G-Code” to ensure quality results after machining
Possess problem solving and trouble-shooting skills in relation to all types of tooling
WORK ENVIRONMENT...
Ability to stand and/or walk for 8+ hours a day
Must be able to use hands to position parts in place
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lbs
Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment
