We are looking for a Marketing Copywriter with B2B technology experience to join the Cloudways Lifecycle Marketing team. As a Copywriter, you will support Marketing and Product teams, reporting to the Senior Manager, Lifecycle Marketing. In this role, you will be responsible for creating clear, technically accurate, and convincing content that speaks to our audience of developers, small and medium businesses, and agencies. Your copy will focus on optimizing customer engagement, retention, and conversion behaviors across a range of touchpoints—from emails and product descriptions, to blog posts and landing pages.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Craft Original Copy: Write engaging, technically sound content for various marketing channels, including email campaigns, product descriptions, landing pages, blogs, and more.
- Ensure Technical Accuracy: Break down complex technical concepts related to cloud hosting and web development into easily digestible, actionable content without getting lost in the detail
- Support Lifecycle Campaigns: Develop compelling copy for all stages of the customer lifecycle, particularly through email campaigns, nurture flows, and re-engagement content.
- Create Customer Facing Assets: like our monthly newsletter, product update and new product launch emails, case study content, and other Cloudways promotional materials
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with marketing, product, and design teams to align messaging with DigitalOcean's brand voice and business objectives.
- SEO and Content Optimization: Create SEO-optimized content for blogs, landing pages, and product pages to drive organic traffic and conversions.
- Content Performance Improvement: Use data and A/B testing insights to continuously refine and optimize copy for improved engagement and conversions.
- Drive Engagement: Create effective calls-to-action (CTAs) and conversion-focused messaging that drives action across various digital touchpoints.
- Market Research: Stay updated on cloud hosting industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to ensure content is relevant and engaging.
What You'll Add to DigitalOcean:
- In-Depth SaaS Knowledge: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts related to cloud hosting and web development in a simple, persuasive, and engaging way.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in understanding and writing about cloud computing, managed hosting, and related technologies.
- Creative & Analytical Mindset: Ability to blend creativity with data-driven insights to write engaging, high-performing content.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent editing, proofreading, and quality assurance skills, ensuring all copy is grammatically accurate and factually correct
What We’ll Expect from You:
- Native or near native written English language communication skills
- 4+ years of experience in B2B copywriting, preferably in SaaS, cloud technology, or web hosting companies.
- Able to write for different mediums (web, email, social, etc.) and user personas of varying technical capability, with a focus on clear, concise and conversational copy.
- Excellent editing and proofreading skills, with a focus on simplifying complex technical concepts without losing accuracy.
- Proven experience writing B2B-focused user content that drives customer engagement and conversions.
- Experience creating content for email campaigns, product descriptions, blogs, and landing pages.
- SEO proficiency, with the ability to create content that ranks and drives organic traffic.
- Familiarity with cloud and web hosting technologies, with the ability to translate technical content into engaging copy suited to multiple buyer personas.Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience working with A/B testing and using analytics tools to optimize copy.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or DigitalOcean.
- User or working knowledge of WordPress web publishing tools or similar CMS systems
- Understanding of UX/UI principles and how copy influences design and customer experience.
- Experience working as a journalist or within a media company
