Our hubs are located in Tampere (Finland), Montreal (Canada) and Brisbane (Australia) where we focus on developing fully automated and robotic mining technologies for mobile machinery, and safety solutions up to collision avoidance system (CAS) Level 9 solutions and operations management. We work closely together with our Sandvik Mining sales areas to serve our customers across the globe, striving for the highest level of service and support.
We are looking for Senior Data Scientist a data-driven problem solver who can transform mining data into actionable insights and predictive solutions. You will also participate in adaptive operations design for autonomous machines. You will work with diverse datasets to analyse, model, and optimize mining operations, leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning. You have also abilities to be the lead engineer of a team of data scientists and data engineers. This role is highly collaborative, offering a supportive team environment where you’ll work closely with talented colleagues across disciplines and geographies. This is a role reporting to the Technology Programs Manager in R&D. The position is based in Tampere, Finland at our home office in Tulli Business Park located in the city center.

Your Qualifications and Key Responsibilities
Your Profile
You have a relevant technical education (e.g., Master of Science), and prior experience working with the specified context. We value your experience of working in teams, and your experience of mining, automation or mobile equipment in international business environment. You can specify, plan, and document your ideas and you have a proactive systematic and structured way of working. You have good verbal and writing skills in English.
You can establish strong professional relationships directly with relevant stakeholders and communicate with them at all levels. You understand wider business needs and find innovative solutions to complex problems. You can work proactively and systematically in a fast-changing business environment with a strong success focus. You have willingness to travel internationally.
