We’re seeking an experienced Materials Planning and SIOP professional who is responsible for the supply and demand planning process, and for making moderate improvements to systems and processes to enhance performance of work area and team. Works with internal team to develop financial forecasts. The Principal Specialist Planner plays a critical role in enhancing customer satisfaction and operational performance across Collins Aerospace’ global business. In this role, you will partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Product Management, Logistics, Value Stream and Customer to develop accurate demand schedules, optimize inventory, and ensure alignment between market needs and manufacturing capacity.  By translating complex data into actionable insights, you will help drive on-time delivery,  assist in development and execution of the business unit sales plan, and strengthen overall business responsiveness. This role is ideal for a proactive, analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative manufacturing environment.

This position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What You Will Do

  • Create and execute plan for every part and maintain master data for purchased parts, subassemblies, end items and other parts as required

  • Facilitate the capacity management process, including identification and escalation of long term capacity gaps to ensure successful execution of customer demands in support of SI&OP

  • Execute continuous management of the master demand schedule, including adherence to all required validations using the best information available, in order to provide long range OE and aftermarket demand visibility in support of financial planning, internal and external capacity management, and the overall SI&OP process

  • Monitor the transportation and delivery of inter/interplant parts and outbound finished products. Track and manage inter/interplant work in process (WIP), promise dating, expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and flow

  • Mitigate risks for short term shortages with internal suppliers to ensure successful customer delivery

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve production parts demand across product lines and customer segments

  • Partner with proposal management, contracts, repair planners, program managers, and other cross functional teams to align ERP system demand with lead-time, customer expectations and business strategy

  • Collaborate closely with plant operations and supply chain teams to align production capacity, material availability, and fulfillment plans with scheduled demand

  • Monitor delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite the flow of materials and meet production schedules

  • Define, support, and track planning reports, KPIs, and performance metrics (inventory health, service levels, on-time delivery, sales targets etc.)

  • Analyze supply, demand, and inventory data to develop dashboards, visualizations, and executive-level presentations

  • Determine allocation and makes priority decisions on critical hardware to ensure smooth operations

  • Project inventory requirements and identify gaps, risks, and opportunities to improve inventory optimization and planning accuracy

  • Investigate and resolve data integrity issues, system challenges, and calculation discrepancies across planning tools and ERP systems

  • Perform root cause analysis on recurring planning issues and implement corrective actions to drive sustainable improvements

  • Responsible for the development of indicators that enable visibility to short and long-term market trends and demand

  • Identify and develop new technologies to improve materials planning and SIOP capability, sustainability, and reliability

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning processes, data quality, and operational performance

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

  • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written)

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract 

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience leading or supporting data analysis initiatives and system/data migration projects within demand planning or supply chain environments

  • Experience working within SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems

  • Working experience with Continuous Improvement / Lean / Six Sigma

  • Project Management is a nice to have
