What is the opportunity? 

Reporting to the Associate Manager, Cloud Engineering Operations, as a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the deployment of Zafin’s SaaS stack, inclusive of applications, on public cloud. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical application deployments through automated pipelines. The dynamic and rapidly advancing technologies in the world of cloud-based deployment requires engineers that proactively stay up to date with new technologies.

What will you do?

  • Build, deploy and maintain Zafin's SaaS environment, which includes the infrastructure and application stack on public cloud 
  • Responsible for the periodic maintenance of the environments using rolling updates and patch management (infra and application) 
  • Support BAU for any environmental issues to resolve them and fix the root cause 
  • Bring in operational improvements in day-to-day activities to improve the efficiency of the team 
  • Design, develop and modify automated deployment processes and pipelines 
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to help in defining and promoting industry best practices in release management 
  • Communicate release details and schedules to the Business stakeholders as required 
  • Become a subject matter expert for Zafin's SaaS environment 
  • Provide roster-based support and liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution 
  • Actively communication with internal/external stakeholders for change management 
  • Mentor and guide the team with technical expertise 

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Graduation or Post Graduation in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
  • 4-10 years of proven working experience in infrastructure deployment and maintenance
  • Solid knowledge on Cloud computing
  • Solid Azure cloud hands on experience
  • Solid understanding of SRE best practices
  • Solid hands-on experience on Linux Operating System and maintenance
  • Experience working with automated deployment pipelines preferably on Azure DevOps
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes / OpenShift
  • Working experience on AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)
  • Working experience on application security using Azure provided resources
  • Experienced with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) deployment (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
  • Solid scripting skills (Shell, Perl, Ruby, Python)
  • Good Knowledge and experience on JBoss/Wildfly and Postgres
  • Experience in log management and monitoring
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with experience in issue triaging and resolution as per ITSM standards
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to multitask while working independently in a fast-paced workspace
  • Willingness to learn new technology 

Nice to Have:

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD Tools 
  • Domain knowledge of banking and financial institutions and/or large enterprise IT environment will be a strong asset 
  • Sound knowledge on SDLC methodologies (Agile and Waterfall) 
  • Prior experience with Scrum methodology 
  • Public cloud infrastructure and network troubleshooting skills 
  • Innovative mindset for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery
