Medical Assistant - Technician Medical Surgical – OBGYN

Cortlandt Manor – Cold Spring Northern Westchester County

Responsibilities will include:

• Observing patients condition, reporting abnormal conditions to staff nurse and recording appropriate documentation in patient’s records.
• Measure and record patients height and weight, may perform routine vision and hearing examinations, pulse and blood pressure readings.
• Draws blood from patients and/or performs finger sticks and obtains other specimens as requested by physician or registered nurse.
• Assists with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles in creating and maintaining a sterile field during procedures.
• Uses technical skills regarding positioning, wound care, and dressings.
• Maintaining stock items for examination and blood drawing rooms, forms used by clinical staff, etc.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.

This is a full time Monday-Friday 40 hour work week. Must be flexible to work shifts between 7:00am-7:00pm. Overtime as needed based on operational needs. May be required to work at other Hudson Valley Medical Group practices based on operational needs. Located at Cortlandt Manor-1978 Crompond Road and Cold Spring-1756 Route 9D offices depending on schedule.

Required Criteria:

• 1 + years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• High School diploma or GED

Preferred Criteria:

• Graduate of a State and/or Nationally accredited Medical Associate Program 
• Certification as a Medical Assistant
• Experience working within an OBGYN woman’s healthcare setting.
