About Foodies

You know New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square right? That’s us! We are one of NZ’s biggest companies, you may just not know it, because in true Kiwi style – we are humble about it (apart from right now maybe)!  Our purpose-built office is close to Auckland Airport and is home to New Zealand’s largest Distribution Centre and our Support Centre where our team of 1000 people strong, all strive towards becoming one of the most customer driven retailers in the world.

About the role

Are you ready to make a real impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? As our Regulatory Compliance Analyst at Foodstuffs North Island, you will be at the heart of ensuring our organization meets its regulatory obligations. Your role will be pivotal in delivering top-quality reporting to the Head of Compliance, the General Counsel, the Risk Committee and ultimately our Board members and Regulator, while seamlessly bridging the gap between our business teams and legal experts.

You’ll be the go-to expert for all things compliance. You’ll work closely with business teams, guiding them to meet the highest standards and ensuring that our compliance activities are flawlessly measured and reported. Your work will directly influence our company's success, ensuring we meet our regulatory commitments with precision and minimal fuss.

What Will You Be Responsible For?

Be the Compliance Champion: Establish yourself as a trusted and knowledgeable point of contact for Line 2 compliance, empowering our business teams and Store Owners with the fronting the standards they need to succeed.
Shape the Future: Represent and role model the Policy and Framework that gives our Board confidence in the accuracy and reliability of information, spotlighting any areas where compliance could be improved.
Drive Excellence: Collaborate with Business Units to validate and enhance the processes and controls that feed into our reports. Continually refine our control register, working with business owners to support their quality improvements.
Influence Change: Identify and address compliance weaknesses, facilitating business unit review and action plan development. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding the improvements needed to address these weaknesses.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work cross-functionally to align practices with our policies and guidelines, and advocate for further standardisation where needed.
Pursue Perfection: Partner with governance forums, working groups, and projects to continuously push towards 100% regulatory compliance.
Solve Problems: Dive into root cause analysis, working with IT and Data & Analytics to drive systemic improvements that enhance our compliance outcomes.
Support Success: Help business units document and report on processes and controls, providing the data that governance bodies need to make informed decisions.
Lead with Expertise: Become a key Subject Matter Expert in risk identification, guiding all business units in achieving top-notch compliance.

About You:

You will be a seasoned compliance or financial analyst, with a versatile skill set and ideally 5 years’ experience in a risk and/or compliance role. FMCG experience is a bonus, but what matters most is your ability to quickly learn and adapt. Alongside that you will be curious & driven - always eager to learn more, constantly exploring what’s possible and pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved.

You will also:
- have a strong track record of being an exceptional team member, known for delivering accurate information and insights while collaborating effortlessly with people from all backgrounds.
- Be comfortable navigating data and IT systems and possess excellent excel and reporting skills. Experience with SAP, SharePoint and Visio would also be an advantage.
- Possess great commercial acumen, with the ability to contextualise your analysis outcomes effectively.
- Be both a high-level thinker and a hands-on doer, with a bias for action and the ability to see ideas through from concept to execution.
- Have top-notch communication skills - both written and verbal and clearly articulate ideas and concepts with ease.

What’s in it for you

In return, we offer a competitive salary package, including fully subsidised health insurance, flexible working, free parking, onsite subsidised café and mini mart, participation in the company superannuation fund and lots of learning and development opportunities!  The role is based in the Foodstuffs’ Auckland head office – but Foodstuffs Legal Team also has a highly flexible working culture.
