The Database Analyst is responsible for analyzing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise databases to support reporting, forecasting, financial integrations, and project management tools like OnePlan and Project Online. This role involves close collaboration with finance teams, PMOs, and application support units to ensure data accuracy, report readiness, and performance tuning for tools and integrations. The analyst will also play a vital role in data migration, validation, and system transition efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyze and validate financial and timesheet data for monthly actuals and forecasting reports.
  • Create and maintain datasets used in Power BI dashboards for project, resource, and financial tracking.
  • Support financial reporting use cases by developing test scenarios and validating data accuracy across CapEx, OpEx, and labor reports.
  • Collaborate with finance stakeholders to ensure alignment of report outputs with fiscal period structures.

Database Maintenance & Optimization:

  • Maintain data integrity across connected systems (OnePlan, Project Online, JIRA, etc.).
  • Optimize queries and dataset refreshes to reduce strain on Power BI and ensure timely updates.
  • Monitor performance of existing data pipelines and recommend improvements.

System Integration & Data Migration:

  • Support enterprise-wide migration of data from legacy systems (e.g., Project Server to OnePlan).
  • Execute full and partial data migrations for over 500+ project managers with weekend lift-and-shift cutovers.
  • Ensure successful sync of project metadata, timesheets, and resource assignments during system transitions.
  • Coordinate forward-fix and back-out contingency plans for critical migrations like OnePlan go-live.

Testing & Validation:

  • Define and execute UAT scenarios using Jira/Xray to validate financial and access-related features.
  • Develop test cases to validate financial reports by task, resource, product, and fiscal month.
  • Review and document known risks, action steps, and ensure test evidence is tracked for audit purposes.

Governance & Compliance:

  • Maintain compliance with audit and financial controls by documenting data workflows and configurations.
  • Partner with IT and security teams to ensure correct role-based access to project management tools.
  • Support license audits and user provisioning activities.

Cross-functional Support:

  • Act as liaison between PMOs, finance, automation teams, and application administrators.
  • Provide ongoing support for tools including OnePlan, Project Online, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Respond to service requests related to access management, timesheet help, reporting assistance, and dashboard configurations. #LI_DNI.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (4-years) in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years in database analysis, reporting, or data operations.
  • Proficient in SQL, Power BI, and data modeling.
  • Experience with project management tools (OnePlan, Project Online, JIRA).
  • 2+ years of experience maintaining enterprise-scale database environments.
  • Demonstrated, successful experience working in a matrixed, multi-vendor technology environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in urgent situations with high pressure and visibility.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Proven experience working with finance teams and enterprise-scale reporting.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with UAT testing frameworks like Jira/Xray is a plus.
  • Experience supporting financial planning and resource capacity reporting.
  • Ability to develop structured migration strategies and contingency plans.
  • Comfort working with SaaS integrations and API-based data connections.
  • Understanding of time-tracking systems and their impact on financial rollups.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $91,600 - $123,700 year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
