The Red Hat OpenShift team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us. In this role you will develop tools as well as contribute fixes to upstream projects and OpenShift itself, all for the purpose of ensuring we have a reliable signal from our test infrastructure. You'll analyze data to inform your priorities and help others in our larger product team to understand how they can provide the highest quality releases to our customers.  As a Software Engineer, you will be mentored by a team of senior technical leaders to work both on your own and in tight collaboration and regular communication with other team members and upstream developers.

What you will do:

  • Develop features in open source projects that help us get the most value from OpenShift and Kubernetes automated testing.
  • Develop tools to make it easier for our larger product team to adopt processes that improve product quality.
  • Analyze data from our bug tracking and continuous integration infrastructure to create a roadmap for improvement.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience using programming languages like Go or Python
  • Ability to work Hybrid in Raleigh NC, Boston MA or Lowell MA
  • Contributing to the Kubernetes community in any way
  • Demonstrable experience in debugging during critical situations, independent ownership of design-to-delivery for features
  • Experience working in the upstream and familiarity with upstream development practices
  • Experience with the challenges of maintaining code quality on a product or project with hundreds of contributors.
  • Running applications on OpenShift
  • Telling stories with data
     

The salary range for this position is $90,480.00 - $144,660.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
