Job Profile Name: Driving Range Operations Assistant

Job Profile Summary:

Position Summary/Purpose: Under the direction of the Driving Range Operations Manager, the Driving Range Operations Assistant has the responsibility of assisting in managing day-to-day driving range operations, event coordination, while ensuring superior guest service and satisfaction.

Compliance Obligation: All GCU employees are responsible for knowing and complying with the applicable constitution, bylaws, laws, policies, rules, regulations, and/or enforcement structures of and governing the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and of the Western Athletic Conference, especially if this role is in frequent interaction with student athletes.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for assisting in day-to-day operations of the Driving Range, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Manage the reservation system; establish and assist with daily scheduling.
  • Track and verify all guests, and other charges necessary, and facilitate accurate recordkeeping.
  • Develop, maintain, update, and utilize customer database.
  • Manage group events.
  • Establish and maintain responsibility for the cleanliness and appearance of the Driving Range, storage area and general seating areas.
  • Responsible for guest service.
  • Responsible for handling of money.
  • In absence of director, this person is responsible for day-to-day decisions.
  • Assist with managing hours of driving range staff and student workers ensuring adequate coverage to ensure required service levels.
  • Assist in training all driving range team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Equipment Used and Responsibility

  • Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time (approximately 50% of shift).

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise assistant pros and student workers.

Experience/ Education

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 2 years of experience in golf operations.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in golf course operations.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which includes early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.
  • Must be available to work anytime within the hours of 5:00am-10:00 pm, any of the 7 days of the week (may be subject to change based on business need).
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
