Engineer is principally responsible for providing technical service and operational support to customers at their job sites. They conduct installations, repairs, maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and delivering customer training for technical systems used in commercial buildings.

Brief Job Description for an Engineer:

Install, service, and repair technical systems and devices on customer premises. Provide onsite technical and operational support in the installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of systems and equipment. Conduct tests and inspections to ensure the proper functioning of systems and equipment. Deliver technical training to customers on system use, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records. Provide customers with high-level technical support, responding to customer inquiries. Keep updated on new developments and techniques in the field and close coordination with the central technical team for constant learning. Work closely with the sales team to provide technical knowledge that can assist in closing sales. Maintain spare parts inventory and manage job schedules. Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols and standards.

Educational requirements often include a degree in Engineering or a related technical field. Field experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing relevant systems, and a sound understanding of those systems are crucial. Key skills include problem-solving abilities, excellent customer service skills, technical acuity, the ability to work independently and excellent communication skills. Depending upon the company and role, specific certifications related to the systems being serviced might be required.
