You will be responsible for performing the role of UST and Agency MBS Trader in support of, the International Framework of Mitsubishi UFJ Securities Holdings (MUSHD).
As such, you will be Accountable and Responsible for performing your role according to the policies, procedures, delegated authorities, trading limits and risk governance of the MUSHD Operating Entities through which your business unit operates. Disputes and conflicts between your business unit and/or any MUSHD Operating Entity will be escalated and resolved according to the MUSHD’s Global Governance framework.
As UST and Agency MBS Trader you will closely with sales and other stakeholders to enhance client relationships and MUFG’s market presence in Asia. Specific responsibilities related to your role as UST and Agency MBS Trader, include but are not limited to:
· Bid / offer and hedge USTs, T-Bills and Strips for clients in the Asian time zone according to any relevant restrictions, limits or internal mandates
· Bid / offer TBAs, specified pools, CMOs and ACMBs for clients in the Asian time zone according to any relevant restrictions, limits or internal mandates;
· Hedge MBS transactions with UST, futures or options according to applicable risk management standards within MUSHD’s International platform;
· Act as the UST and MBS product expert in the Asian time zone;
· Build and enhance client relationships in UST and Agency MBS;
· Travel with sales as needed to visit clients in the Asian region
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Specifically, you will be Accountable and Responsible for taking appropriate action with respect to executing and implementing the business strategy and objectives of the UST and MBS Trading Business, working closely with the Heads of Rates Trading Group EMEA and Americas, and the Head of MBS Trading on the guidance they provide on inventory and pricing, hedging ratios. Responsibilities includes:
Strategy Development
Understand and execute UST and Agency MBS transactions in line with the business objectives of the regional and International platform, agreed with relevant stakeholders.
Risk Management
As UST and MBS Trader, you will be responsible for the risk being run across UST and Agency MBS during the Asian trading day. You are/will be responsible and accountable for the following:
• managing relevant risks (including, but not limited to, market, credit, operational and conduct risks) of your transactions within the firm’s risk appetite including through the use of market-leading risk management models and monitoring tools.
• conducting business in line with internal policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements.

You are responsible for ensuring the Company’s compliance with internal risk and compliance requirements, controls and procedures, including but not limited to:
• personally, following all relevant policies and procedures, and ensuring those in your teams also follow policy and procedures. (including, but not limited to, “MBS Desk Procedures”)
Technical Capability (as applicable)
• You are responsible for assisting independent risk managers with the evaluation, development and maintenance of a stress testing framework that is congruent with the risk profile of the International Business and calibrated to the risk appetite approved by MUSHD; in conjunction with the Operating Entity
CROs, you will ensure that a process is in place to constrain risk tendency within the approved risk appetite
People
Relationship with other functions and stakeholders
• Maintain and enhance good working relationships with stakeholders, across the region and globally to share best practices, provide support and develop effective local policies and procedures appropriate to the Company, and working in support of the One MUFG and overall Group strategy.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Essential:
· 3+ years trading UST and Agency MBS in the Asian time zone
· Strong excel and VBA skills
· Bachelors Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer
Science
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
· Japanese fluency preferred
· Masters Degree a plus
· CFA designation a plus
