We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Order Management Systems (OMS) organization. This role will be responsible for building large‑scale, high‑performance services and data processing pipelines that power critical order lifecycle and fulfillment capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Java, Spark, Big Data technologies, and experience designing and building autonomous agents or agent‑driven systems. As a  technical leader, you will influence architecture, mentor engineers, drive best practices, and partner closely with Product, Architecture, and cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and business‑critical OMS capabilities.

What you'll do...

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of high‑scale OMS services and distributed components.
  • Architect and implement Spark- and Big Data–based pipelines to process large volumes of transactional and operational data.
  • Design and build agents and agent‑based automation frameworks that improve system intelligence, monitoring, and decisioning.
  • Partner with architects to evolve OMS platform capabilities, ensuring scalability, resiliency, and performance.
  • Drive engineering excellence across the team through code reviews, mentoring, and hands‑on technical leadership.
  • Own end‑to‑end technical delivery—from design, development, documentation, testing, to production deployment.
  • Collaborate with Product and business teams to translate functional needs into scalable engineering solutions.
  • Influence long‑term technical direction, frameworks, and standards across the OMS ecosystem.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in backend engineering, preferably in high‑scale, distributed systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and JVM‑based engineering practices.
  • Hands‑on experience with Apache Spark, distributed compute frameworks, and Big Data ecosystems (Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Iceberg, etc.).
  • Proven experience designing or building autonomous agents, decisioning systems, or intelligent automation components.
  • Deep understanding of microservices, event‑driven architectures, and messaging systems (Kafka, Pulsar, etc.).
  • Expertise with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, or AWS) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, debugging ability, and performance‑tuning experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead engineering initiatives across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working on Order Management Systems or large‑scale supply chain platforms.
  • Experience with distributed tracing, observability frameworks, and reliability engineering.
  • Familiarity with ML‑driven agents or reinforcement‑learning‑based automation.
  • Contributions to open‑source Big Data or distributed systems projects.
What Success Looks Like
  • You drive system‑wide improvements to OMS scalability, data processing efficiency, and reliability.
  • You mentor engineers and elevate the team’s engineering craftsmanship.
  • You act as a key technical leader influencing long‑term OMS architecture and business outcomes.
  • You deliver complex features with high quality, strong documentation, and minimal production friction.
