Schedule Details/Additional Information:

This position is primarily outpatient-based at the Pineville clinic, working five days per week. One day includes virtual clinic responsibilities in the morning followed by dedicated administrative time in the afternoon. Occasional weekday inpatient coverage may be required. No night or weekend call responsibilities. Providers participate in coverage for one inpatient holiday shift per year. 

Pay Range

$47.50 - $71.25

Atrium Health is seeking a full-time Gastroenterology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to support our growing GI practice based in Pineville, NC. This role functions as a clinic-based provider with inpatient coverage responsibilities, serving as backup coverage for the inpatient APP service.


Position Highlights
• 100% Adult Medicine
• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 4.5 days/week
• ½ day administrative time built into schedule
• Backup inpatient coverage when needed
• Approx. 8 weekday inpatient shifts per quarter at Atrium Health Pineville
• One inpatient holiday coverage per year
• No nights or weekends
• Combination of outpatient clinic and inpatient responsibilities
• Opportunity to practice within a collaborative, physician-led team model

Clinical Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive gastroenterology care in clinic and inpatient settings
• Conduct patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage follow-up care
• Perform inpatient consults and participate in daily rounding when covering service
• Manage average patient volume of ~14 patients/day
• Perform procedures including:
• PEG tube exchanges/placements (endoscopy setting)
• Collaborate closely with physicians, APP colleagues, and nursing staff
• Participate in shared call structure as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner
• Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing Practice
• Active RN license
• National board certification
• Acute Care certification required based on population served
or
Physician Assistant
• Graduate of accredited PA program
• NCCPA certification required

Licensure
• Eligible for or active North Carolina license

Experience
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience required
• Interest or experience in general gastroenterology and subspecialty GI care preferred
