Job Description:
This job is responsible for assessing the bank's technologies, applications, and overall security controls to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities that may impact Bank of America's information security. Key responsibilities include understanding and complying of the Bank’s Global Information Security policy and relevant cyber security threats to complete security assessments. Job expectations include providing expert technical guidance to support partners and adapting testing methods to emerging cyber security regulations and evolving threats, while developing others on the team.

This role is on the Vulnerability Management Innovation team within our Attack Surface & Vulnerability Management function (ASVM). ASVM is responsible for prioritizing mitigation or remediation of information security risk by providing data-driven, reliable, and timely analysis of the bank’s susceptibility to vulnerability exploitation based on a comprehensive understanding of the bank’s attack surface and control environment, threat intelligence and enterprise risk tolerance.

This Vulnerability Management Innovation role will drive advancement in our analysis and rating activities by leveraging analytical and technical skills to provide guidance and leadership to ensure the continuous improvement of our Vulnerability Analysis program. In this role you will design and implement comprehensive solutions to complex problems, lead major projects, and influence the strategic direction of the organization.

This role will be primarily focused on supporting the analysis of Common Vulnerability and Exposures (CVE), with an emphasis on innovation in our data and threat-driven rating approach. To be successful in this role you will need to be an effective communicator frequently switching between technical & non-technical partners to influence and deliver change. This role does require an ability to operate with limited direction while effectively bringing people together to design and implement solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in cyber security
  • Ability to work independently on initiatives with little oversight
  • Ability to proactively anticipate problems and execute solutions at a strategic level
  • Excellent analytical skills/problem solving/conceptual thinking
  • Understanding of risk assessment methodologies
  • Knowledge of vulnerability attack methods, exploit results, attack chains
  • Knowledge of industry standard scoring models such as CVSS, CCSS
  • Knowledge of industry standard data models such as CPE and data normalization tools
  • Must be able to critically examine an organization and application through the perspective of a threat actor and articulate risk in clear, precise terms to technical and non-technical audience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Leveraging NIST SP-800 (specifically 800-30) for prioritizing risk
  • Operationalizing MITRE Attack & TTPs in vulnerability prioritization
  • Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, code reviews and penetration tests against system and application technologies, services, platforms and languages to find flaws and exploits (e.g., SQL Injection, Cross-Site Scripting, Cross-Site Request Forgery, Clickjacking, Authentication/Authorization, Privilege Escalation, Business Logic Bypass)
  • Strong familiarity with OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, SANS 25, MITRE, and CWEs
  • Experience in conducting vulnerability scans
  • Experience in performing data analytics to communicate impact analysis of process change.
