POSITION SUMMARY
Works in various areas of the warehouse including shipping, receiving, put-away, inventory control, slotting etc. Ensures efficiency of the warehouse is maintained at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Tools/Equipment
• Proficient using RF/Voice Pick/Visual Pick technology to perform tasks.
• Proficient using manual and motorized Material Handling Equipment (cherry picker, reach truck, double reach, motorized pallet jack, etc.)
Leadership
• Trains or ensures the training of new teammates or retrains existing teammates in job functions.
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate teammates to achieve work goals.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists teammates in solving work problems.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, quality of product, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency of the warehouse.
General
• Can perform all the functions of a Distribution Teammate - Equipment operator at a high level of efficiency and accuracy.
• Willingness in flexible hours to adjust to DC needs.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Follows safety policies and procedures and corrects or communicates hazards to management.
• Count and perform basic math calculations.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards.
• Maintain good standing rating within the organization.
• Perform additional duties as directed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
General knowledge of a variety of basic topics (math, reading, basic accounting, typing, etc.) Equal to a high school diploma.
• Prior experience working in a warehouse/distribution center a plus
• Warehouse/Operations certification a plus.
• Ability to acquire certification for all warehouse machinery.
• Successful completion of all company warehouse training modules resulting in certification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
• Ability to work in a fast‐paced, team environment and meet performance standards/individual performance goals.
• Good attention to detail.
• Dependable and able to report to work as scheduled/have regular punctual attendance.
• Willingness to learn how to use new material handling equipment.
• Willingness to learn WMS Technology.
• Ability to adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures for safety rules and requirements received in training.
• ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must successfully pass pre‐employment drug screen and background check
• May be asked to participate in SWAT activities
• Ability to frequently work unscheduled overtime hours with minimal notice
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• For some functions, must be able to operate forklift and pick items as high as 35 feet in the air
• Must be able to stand and walk on concrete warehouse floors for long periods of time
• Must be able to squat and kneel often, and lift up to 50 lbs. individually or greater than 50 lbs. in a team lift
• Must be able to safely use a step ladder or stool to reach area shelves
• Must be able to safely wear steel‐toed protective footwear in accordance with the OSHA General Industry standard
• Must be able to safely use a provided box cutter
• Must be able to move up and down multi‐level stairways safely
• Must be able to clearly communicate (speak and understand) in English in order to operate voice‐pick technology
