We are looking for a skilled Grinder to perform a range of internal and external surface and finish grinding operations. You’ll work on various metals and alloys to achieve precision finishes using a variety of grinding methods including straight, taper, face, contour, groove, form, and step grinding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform precision grinding operations using:

  • Hand tools

  • Floor-mounted backstand grinders

  • Ceiling-mounted swing grinders

  • Cranes and hoists

  • Wheelabrator sandblasting systems

  • Electric band saws

• Grind and finish a variety of metal parts following standard procedures.

• Handle tasks such as straightening, contouring, tapering, grooving, and forming.

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.

• Follow verbal and written work instructions.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Assist with other shop duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

• Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

• Basic math and measurement skills.

• 6–12 months of prior grinding experience preferred.

• Must pass a mechanical aptitude or skills test (for new hires).

Physical & Environmental Expectations:

• Constant standing, walking, and bending

• Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs)

• Occasional pushing/pulling (40–70 lbs of force)

• Standard 8-hour shifts with potential overtime

• Exposure to dust, dirt, and sand

• Hot in summer, cool in winter

• Industrial noise levels

• Required PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe boots, gloves, hard hat (as needed), and optional dust mask
