Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves leading the initiative to design, develop, and configure software applications tailored to specific requirements. This role requires acting as the main liaison for project stakeholders, coordinating efforts across various teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery. The position demands a proactive approach to managing project timelines and resources while continuously adapting to evolving project needs and challenges. Collaboration and communication are key, as the engineer guides the technical direction and ensures alignment with overall project goals throughout the development lifecycle.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Oversee the implementation of best practices and standards within the team to enhance productivity and quality.
- Mentor junior team members to support their professional growth and skill development.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts to align project objectives and deliverables effectively.
Professional & Technical Skills:
-Actively take part in creating strategy for our DevOps and SRE team, help expand it and drive it towards completing their objectives
-create trusted pipelines of work from development through to production environments utilizing a high degree of automation
-build and optimize the DevOps platform to enable developers and engineers to be as productive as possible
-setup new and migrate existing applications to the Cloud (Azure) in a truly Cloud Native way
-working closely with developers, SREs and other DevOps Engineers in a DevOps team and across teams to improve their scores across all of the DORA metrics
lead by example, taking hands-on and proactive approach
-see that proper operational controls and procedures are implemented to deliver high quality software
-actively take part in our Software Engineering communities, sharing your knowledge, and helping others
-Required skills (6-12 years experience):
-High proficiency in Azure, Kubernetes (preferably AKS)
-Expertise on Gitlab and CI/CD pipelines
-Ansible, Bash or Shell scripting for automation
-Terraform
-Python
-Agile methodology
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Microsoft Azure DevOps.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
