We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented technical manager to join our Global Data Science team as a key player to lead our Generative AI initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, deep knowledge of commodities markets, a proven track record of delivering high quality analytical projects, and leadership capabilities to manage and mentor a small team. This role will involve overseeing the development of generative AI tools, leading projects with high commercial impact, collaborating with teams to identify new opportunities, and delivering high-quality datasets that inform trading decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for integrating generative AI technologies into the firm's trading operations.
  • Lead a team of analysts and technologists, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure the successful delivery of AI-driven projects.
  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and robustness of generative AI tools in a production environment.
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures to support data ingestion and processing.
  • Manage projects, data cataloging, and metadata for the Generative AI initiative.
  • Work closely with traders, analysts, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Communicate complex AI concepts and outcomes to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Stay up to date on the latest advancements in generative AI, identifying opportunities for innovation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in analysis, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience leading analytical projects.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Proficiency with data manipulation and analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Pandas, NumPy).
  • Familiarity with generative AI concepts and tools (e.g., LLMs, ChatGPT, RAG, Fine-tuning, Foundation Models).
  • Personal or professional experience use of generative AI tools to augment or automate work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, creativity, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior experience mentoring and managing a small team.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging continuous learning and professional development.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure project deadlines and objectives are met.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
