The Senior HR Specialist, Compliance & Reporting is responsible for overseeing HR compliance, audits, and evidence management, ensuring audit readiness, data accuracy, and adherence to controls and information security requirements. They will deliver HR reporting and analytics by maintaining data integrity, producing and automating reports, and providing insights to leadership to support compliance and strategic decision-making.

As an organization that places a strong emphasis on compliance, we seek a candidate who can identify even the smallest inconsistencies in documentation, proactively engage with stakeholders across the organization, and effectively manage projects from initiation through completion.

Your responsibilities:

Compliance & Audits

  • Manages all audit requests related to HR
    • Verifies audit requests to ensure adequate quality, quantity and depth of evidence is prepared
    • Pulls population reports and process documents as requested
    • Redacts all audit evidence before submission as required
    • Drives the collection of requested evidence from various sources, including Jira tickets, Confluence, the HRIS, ATS, PAS, the shared drive, and more
    • Trains, delegates, and checks evidence gathered by HR team members
    • Investigates gaps in collected evidence and helps to provide additional documentation or context
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of all audit controls and applicable HR processes
  • Addresses risk issues related to audit controls owned by HR
  • Ensures HR Leadership is kept in the loop on all evidence gathering findings and potential compliance risks
  • Understands and advises the HR team on Global Relay’s Information Security Policies as they intersect with HR
  • Maintains proper access and formatting for all ISMS-tagged pages in the HR space in Confluence
  • Drives the annual global Employee Guide and Policy updates and collection of employee acknowledgement to ensure compliance

HR Reporting & Analytics

  • Understands all reporting and analytical capabilities of our HR systems
  • Develops, generates, and maintains new and recurring HR reports
  • Maintains and updates employee data in HR systems; ensures high accuracy and data integrity across all HR systems and reports
  • Creates and improves reports and dashboards based on business needs and leadership requests
  • Analyzes HR data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, provide insights and recommendations to HR leadership team
  • Automates reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce human error
  • Validates data, troubleshoot discrepancies, and correct errors in applicable HR systems
  • Participates in strategic HR initiatives: research & analysis, recommendation & participation in the implementation and maintenance of initiatives
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards
  • Compiles population reports, as well as compiling evidence, reviewing it, and flagging any gaps for HR's senior leadership.

About you:

  • 5+ years of experience in progressive HR role
  • Previous work experience in a compliance or high-tech software industry preferred
  • Completion of post-secondary coursework in Human Resources
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Experience in HRIS, ATS or other databases is an asset
  • Sound judgment including exercise of discretion and confidentiality
  • Keen attention to detail with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Proven ability to influence and build trust with senior stakeholders
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working independently and with a team

Compensation:

Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia’s pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background. 

The range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values. We aim to foster an inspiring work environment and support employees' work-life rhythms. We provide a comprehensive extended health benefits program, including virtual healthcare and a wellness allowance. Employees also receive annual allotted vacation days, which increase based on tenure. $80,000$100,000 CAD
