The Human Resources Onboarding Navigator plays a key role in supporting and guiding the employee hire process at UMC. This position ensures compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements, while maintaining accuracy, quality, and consistency throughout all onboarding activities. The Navigator serves as a quality assurance checkpoint, helping to streamline processes, safeguard data integrity, and provide a seamless experience for both candidates and hiring managers.
Reports to: HR Manager, Talent Acquisition
Job Specific Responsibilities
(Daily assignments may include but are not limited to)
• Serves as primary source contact for preboarding and onboarding for new hires and transfers
• Facilitate background investigations, coordinates drug and nicotine screenings, completes primary source verifications, and I-9 employment verifications
• Coordinates appointments with Employee Health and Nursing Administration as needed for clearance into role
• Process employee transfers, promotions, change in job classifications, salary increases, and other related employment transactions
• Works closely with department leaders to improve relationships, build morale, and increase productivity
• Responsible for ID badging for employees
• Manage data entry input of sign on bonus, relocation, and/or referral contracts into HR system
• Performs other related duties as assigned related to Talent Acquisition
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED
• + 1 year HR or Employment Services experience
Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations
Preference for candidate with HRIS familiarization
Skills and Abilities
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to maintain confidential information and interact with people from diverse backgrounds
• Must be able to work and meet deadlines with constant interruptions
• Proficient user in Microsoft Office products
• Ability to organize information, research data, and formulate responses/reports
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
The person in this role will interact with all levels of UMC staff and external applicants
Physical Capabilities
This role requires sitting at a desk for extended periods of time while working at a computer. Occasionally
exerts force to lift greater than 10 pounds
