Our Company

We’re Hitachi Digital, a company at the forefront of digital transformation and the fastest growing division of Hitachi Group. We’re crucial to the company’s strategy and ambition to become a premier global player in the massive and fast-moving digital transformation market.

Our group companies, including GlobalLogic, Hitachi Digital Services, Hitachi Vantara and more, offer comprehensive services that span the entire digital lifecycle, from initial idea to full-scale operation and the infrastructure to run it on. Hitachi Digital represents One Hitachi, integrating domain knowledge and digital capabilities, and harnessing the power of the entire portfolio of services, technologies, and partnerships, to accelerate synergy creation and make real-world impact for our customers and society as a whole.

Imagine the sheer breadth of talent it takes to unleash a digital future. We don’t expect you to ‘fit’ every requirement – your life experience, character, perspective, and passion for achieving great things in the world are equally as important to us.

The team

Hitachi Digital’s EMEA Legal team is comprised of eleven lawyers located across Europe, reporting to our Vice President, General Counsel M&A and EMEA based in Dublin (Ireland). The team forms part of Hitachi Digital’s global Legal team led by our General Counsel based in Santa Clara (USA) and works particularly closely with Hitachi Digital’s Compliance team, as well as other business functions as described below.

The role

We are seeking a qualified lawyer based in Krakow (Poland) with approximately two years’ relevant post-qualification experience, gained either in-house (for example with a reputable IT provider) or in law firm practice. The role will report to our Senior Regional Counsel UK & Ireland, based in London (UK), with an indirect reporting line to our senior Privacy counsel for the EMEA region, based in Vienna (Austria). Approximately 75% of the successful candidate’s time will be spent dealing with business transactional matters (for example complex contract negotiations) and 25% as part of our Privacy (data protection) team.

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant professional experience for the role as described above.
  • Good knowledge of commercial contract law in the area of technology (hardware, software, services including consulting services).
  • Ability to successfully manage several projects with simultaneous deadlines and to manage workload prioritisation effectively.
  • Excellent spoken and written English language is essential, plus ideally a third European language.
  • Highly capable with IT tools and, increasingly, AI tools.
  • Management of records of contracts that evolve over time, accessing and reporting specific information quickly.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholders, such as Sales, Procurement and Finance.
  • Willingness to engage in some international business travel – estimated 2-4 times per year (1-2 days at a time).
  • A self-starter, able to work independently and with a good degree of initiative.
  • A desire to have an understanding of, and to become passionate about, Hitachi Digital’s products, services and business.
