Job Title:

Senior Scientist, Analytics & Metrology

Job Description:

The Role:

As a Cleanroom Metrology Engineer, you will work closely with Materials Solutions Engineers and Research Scientists to advance our capability to differentiate and characterize CMP performance of next-generation slurry, post-clean solutions, and pad technologies using in-house metrology tools for thin film analysis, defect inspection, and surface topography. In this role, you will also collaborate with external laboratories and wafer suppliers to support advanced defect characterization, while coordinating efforts across global engineering teams.

In this role you will:

  • Perform metrology measurement– film thickness, defect analysis, SEM defect classification

  • Support measurement needs in experimental planning and execution

  • A subject matter expert in metrology and a key collaborator with engineers and scientists

  • Identifies opportunities to improve Cleanroom and experimental efficiency

  • Assists with evaluation and process development activities on new Cleanroom tools, including polishers, metrology equipment, or cleaning equipment

  • Keeps detailed records of experimental data and experimental methods

  • Shares in responsibility for the safety of shift-coworkers

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics, Chemistry, or a related engineering field

  • 3+ years of experience in a semiconductor fab environment

  • Hands-on experience in defectivity metrology (e.g., SPx, SEM review, defect classification) is required

  • Familiarity with wafer metrology, including thickness measurements

  • Experience in engineering projects, with the ability to operate metrology tools and interpret results (e.g., process or yield engineering roles)

  • Knowledge of CMP processes in Logic, Memory, and/or Advanced Packaging fabs

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with global engineering teams
