Job Summary

Comcast are seeking a talented and experienced Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software development principles and a proven ability to design, develop, and implement robust software solutions. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams across the organization to achieve a robust end product with world-class customer experience.

Job Description

What You’ll Do: 

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications using various programming languages and technologies with the X1 Xfinity Platform.  
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and other engineers to define product requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Perform unit testing and integration testing to ensure software quality.
• Troubleshoot, resolve, and enhance data software to provide a better overall candidate experience for our products within the X1 Platform.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest software development trends and technologies.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.  

What You’ll Need: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java
• Strong understanding of microservices
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
• Strong understanding of testing/accessing APIs via curl and tools such as Postman, Insomnia, etc.
• Experience with version control systems (Git).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

What is a PLUS to have:  

• Experience with Comcast X1 architecture including Edge Systems and provisioning flows
• Experience with X1 data model including WPIL API
• Experience with E2E flows for delivering Video, Internet and phone services
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL)
• Experience with DevOps practices
