Job Description

Data Engineering Group Manager for Core Accounts will be responsible for modernizing and optimizing data distribution flows and integration with Data Lakes, Finance systems, Data Warehouses, and other consumers of DDA, Customer and Account data. This role will develop engineering solutions to reduce latency, increase flexibility and reduce technical debt. This role will work with global teams supporting a franchise critical business, and partner with CTI Infrastructure teams, STE Standard Operating Environments, Application teams for evolving the data highways across Services.

Responsibilities:

  • The position will be responsible for re-engineering the interaction of incoming and outgoing data flows from the Core Accounts DDA platform to Reference Data platforms, Data Warehouse, Data Lake as well as other local reporting systems which consume data from Core Accounts

  • Drive the data architecture and roadmap for eliminating non-strategic point to point connections and batch handoffs

  • Define canonical data models for key entities and events related to Customer, Account, Core DDA in line with the Data Standards

  • Assess opportunities to simplify/rationalize/refactor the existing database schemas paving way for modularization of the existing stack

  • Rationalize 100+ handoffs from DDA applications running on Abinitio and Talend in 70+ countries and define common Taxonomy

  • Design an Operational Data Store for intra-day and end-of-day reporting. Implementing data strategies and developing logical and physical data models.

  • Design self-service reporting capabilities for Operations, using latest tools and technologies

  • Formulate efficient approach to rationalize and migrate thousands of reports to new infrastructure

  • Build and nurture a strong engineering organization to deliver value to internal and external clients

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in Data modeling, Data lineage analysis, Operational reporting, preferably in a global organization

  • Proven architecture experience in building horizontally scalable, highly available, highly resilient data distribution platforms

  • Proficient in message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.

  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.

  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.

  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.

  • Extensive experience with Data Integration patterns.

  • Extensive experience with Real/Near Real time streaming patterns.

  • Preferred Experience/Familiarity with one or more of these tools

    • Big data platforms - Hadoop, Apache Kafka

    • Relational SQL,NoSQL, and Cloud Native databases - Postgres, Cassandra, Snowflake

    • Experience with data pipeline and orchestration tools - Azkaban, Luigi, or Airflow

    • Experience with AWS cloud services -  EMR, RDS, Redshift

    • Experience with stream-processing engines - Apache Spark, Apache Storm,  or Apache Flink

    • Experience with ETL tools - Talend, Ab Initio

    • Experience with Data Analytics/visualization tools - Looker, Mode, or Tableau

  • 12+ years relevant industry experience, 7+ years of data modeling experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Master’s degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$176,720.00 - $265,080.00
