This Position reports to:
Global Communications Manager - BL Mining & MaterialsAn exciting opportunity has become available in ABB North America as marketing and communications manager for its division Process Industries.
The role holder is an enthusiastic team player, creative, proactive and self-motivated, and is familiar with digital marketing and marketing automation tools.
Reporting to the Global Business Line Communications and Marketing Manager for Mining & Materials, you will contribute to the business’ success and growth through customer focused marketing communications plans and campaigns for the local unit North America, with a strong focus on increasing brand visibility, building thought leadership and contributing to revenue by driving digital marketing approaches that nurture customers throughout their buying journey.
You work closely with the Local Management and Sales Teams and the Business Line Communications Leads to develop, localize and implement integrated marketing communications initiatives and campaigns to promote ABB’s portfolio and references to key stakeholders, including customers, trade media, influencers and employees.
You will ensure executional excellence for all communications in line with brand positioning and identity, as well as global/local strategy.
The role will cover the two Process Industries business lines Mining & Materials and Metals & Power Conversion.
This role is open in Canada, US and Mexico, with a preference for Canada (Montreal).
Your responsibilities:
Translate the global business line marketing and communications strategies into marketing and communication plan for the local unit, to increase brand visibility, thought leadership and demand creation.
Collaborate with the local management and the sales teams as well as the global BL Communications managers to create meaningful, relevant and impactful stories and communications materials that promote ABB’s portfolio, local projects, and local experts, including success stories and references, press releases, videos, presentations, speeches, articles, social media posts.
Manage and organize participations in local events such as trade exhibitions or external customer seminars as well as ABB owned events, positioning the ABB brand, solutions and leaders.
Coordinate, prepare and drive internal local communications to make sure employees are informed and engaged.
Plan, organize and host local townhalls together with the local management team.
Your background:
University’s degree preferably in journalism / communication / marketing / or related field
Min 8+ years of experience in marketing communications, ideally in communication agency or related B2B industries
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage several projects at the same time
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English with ability to explain technology in an easy and engaging way. Internal communications for Canada are to be translated first in French
Creative personality and innovative mindset with the capacity to come with new and fresh ideas, while ensuring consistency with brand and BL positioning
A solution-focused and self-starter mindset combined with passion for strategic and analytical thinking
Strong command of digital marketing and marketing automation (SalesForce, Pardot, etc)
Business acumen expected to develop a deep understanding of the business and portfolio
Self-starter who is collaborative, strong networker and team player
For Canadian-based candidates, French is required.
