Mission

He/she gathers the divisions’ needs, then formalizes the functional specifications/user stories needed to build the solutions, in line with the standard methodology, and ensures the validation of the deliveries, leveraging the real needs, with a constant concern to optimize ergonomics, performance and adoption.

He/she closely works with the Product Manager, Program Manager, Divisions Key Users, Architects & Agile Team to deliver the expected capabilities.

Responsibilities

The Product Owner is the functional referent of the content and quality of delivered solution deliveries. He guarantees that the solution fits business needs and priorities. 

In accordance with COE strategy and standards, the Product Owner shall : 

1/ Define functional content of the delivered solution

• Lead workshops with Business Partners team and allocated Business resources, Solution architects, Functional Architects, in order to capture/challenge/align needs and fill out the product backlog

• Receive business needs (issues correction, or change requests) that could come by different media (Change Control Board, emails, helpdesk requests, etc) in collaboration with Business Partners, and formalise the operating processes through BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation)

• Lead Change Control Board on a monthly basis minimum, which includes : organising, preparing, animating meetings and working with Project Manager to involve decision makers to validate final decisions.

• Drive the level of customization in an OOTB mindset,  manage functional backlog, write functional specification or user stories, and define release sprints

• Coordinate with delivery manager to propose and update the roadmap after having considered and challenged delays estimated by development team

2/ Lead operational activities to secure delivered solution’s design and features testing :

• Coordinate with delivery manager to answer tool editor and development team’s questions or need for precision related to specification / user stories with the Solution Architect

3/ Secure solution deployment & ensure continuous improvements

• Prepare deployment strategy closely with Digital Business Partners and R&D DSIS Excellence

• Drive Business Projects readiness assessments

• Qualify the migration needs and define the corresponding functional impact

• Draft training materials / guidelines, and coordinate with change & adoption managers to spread it across user network

• Coordinate with Maintenance Technical architect to :

  • Participate to functional support L3 (expertise level) in collaboration with Solution Architect

  • Report bug fixes to Valeo users community (maintenance report)

• Lead regular lessons learnt workshops with users to capture their feedback and propose improvements

• Conduct regular tech survey in his/her solutions

​4/ Report progress (on a weekly basis)

• Systematically send MoM after workshops and Change Control Board, and log actions in PM dashboard

• Report on a frequent basis the synthesis of the current functional backlog with priorities and arbitrations

• Contribute to project weekly meetings

Education/Training

Engineer with a University degree or equivalent education in IT, Software Engineering or similar

Professional Experience & Qualifications

• At least 6+ years of relevant work experience in Automotive or at least in Industry

• Strong Experience is DOORS 

• Strong Experience is CoreALM 

• Strong prioritisation skills with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Experience in Agile development methodologies 

• Excellent communication & leadership skills

• Profound knowledge and/or certification in Agile SCRUM methodologies

• Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle

• Technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies

• Team spirit and good communication abilities

• Good organizational skills
