Job Description:
The Power BI Data Engineer understands the Power BI platform and its tools very well. A Power BI Developer takes complete responsibility of the development and administration of BI tools. Power BI Developers roles and responsibility includes transforming raw data to valuable and meaningful insights in the form of appealing dashboards and reports. The Power BI Developer manages (plans, organizes, coordinates, and controls) visualization development from a variety of data sources. The Power BI Developer works closely with members of IT, 3rd party vendors, and staff augmentation partners, bring visualizations to fruition.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works across Technology, Vendor, and D&B operational and executive teams for data-related and insight needs.
- Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and other technical tools.
- Ability to work effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals.
- Ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate accountability, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM practices
- Study, analyze and understand business requirements in context to business intelligence.
- Design and map data models to shift raw data into meaningful insights.
- Utilize Power BI to build interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports.
- Spot key performance indicators with apt objectives
- Transform business requirements into technical publications
- Build multi-dimensional data models
- Develop strong data documentation about algorithms, parameters, models
- Perform detailed analysis on tested and deployed Power BI scripts
- Run DAX queries and functions in Power BI
- Make essential technical and strategic changes to improvise present business intelligence systems
- Identify the requirements and develop custom charts accordingly
- SQL querying for better results
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or Software Engineering
- 3 - 5 years of data visualization experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience of working with BI tools
- Knowledge about database management, SQL querying, data modeling, and Online Analytical Processing.
- Must possess experience of working with BI tools and BI systems.
- Must be able to build rich dashboards, write DAX expressions, and implement security.
- Preference For Candidates with
- MS Power BI Certification
- Experience in restaurant/gaming industry
- Additional consideration given for
- experience scripting and programming language such as Python
- in depth knowledge of Microsoft Business Intelligence stack like Power Pivot, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS
