In Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M), our purpose is to combine global connectivity and capability to build a better Australia. What we do as a business matter to our clients, the Group and the country. As well as providing CBA with essential transaction banking and treasury services, IB&M plays a critical role helping our large corporate and government clients and the Group better understand the megatrends reshaping industries; think about what Australia will need to do to be successful; and determine the role we and our clients can play in building a prosperous future. We operate in eight countries outside of Australia, which helps us understand the flows of capital and global industry insights critical for powering the Australian economy into the future. This, coupled with the work and data assets by the research and analytics functions in IB&M, provide the insights necessary to fulfil our purpose.

Global Markets is a department of IB&M and is responsible for all activities in interest rate, bonds, foreign exchange, credit and debt products. Markets has offices across Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, London and New York.

The Global Markets Domain crews are

responsible for the execution of a range of technology change initiatives in IB&M. The crews also undertakes a range of initiatives that cut across the CBA group to enable wider strategic initiatives. Team works closely with a range of Group and IB&M stakeholders to enable Global Markets and Commodities & Carbon businesses. This includes risk and controls management, business change, prioritisation and delivery of initiatives, and ongoing business improvement.

Impact & contribution:

In this newly created role, you will be accountable for delivery of strategic technology change in Global Markets business.

You will work with stakeholders of all levels of seniority across the Group as you assist in delivery of Global Markets strategy, whilst ensuring ongoing awareness and review of risks

Reporting lines: Reporting to Crew Lead

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Governance reporting requirements including milestones, financials, benefits and risks.

  • Track metrics against stated objectives and key results; leverages data driven insights to inform continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Create and track workforce and financial management activity via forecasts, budgets, actuals and reconciliation.

  • Enhance procedures to ensure the business area achieves financial control and meets productivity targets.

  • Enhance the maturity of the discipline through effective problem solving and knowledge sharing of best practices.

  • Develop centralised operational procedures and tools that are streamlined and consistent across all teams including key performance indicators, regulatory delivery and strategic planning.

  • Triage information and requests for the business area to ensure commitments can be delivered and risks/issues are escalated.

  • Manage complexity and change, solve problems, manage broad stakeholder relationships and operate with an enterprise mindset.

  • Identify actions and interventions for escalation and conduct initiative deep dives.

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
