 We are seeking a Federal Pre-Sales Engineer to join our team. A background in public safety is strongly preferred. This role requires close collaboration with several different internal teams at Mark43. You will be responsible for pre-sales scoping and implementing software solutions that meet the needs of clients. To be successful in this role, you will need to establish a personal rapport with potential and current customers, vendors, and partners. You will need a deep understanding of the federal market as well as an understanding of the technical requirements that will ensure the success of our product deployments to federal agencies.  

 

 What You’ll Do 

  • Identify customer needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements. 
  • Work alongside other sales team members to present products to clients and answer any technical questions they may have. 
  • Analyze client requirements and determine if a potential customer is a good fit for Mark43. 
  • Outline anticipated timelines for projects by leveraging internal resources and determining the most efficient processes. 
  • Create documentation for project bids, including estimated timelines, costs, and potential risks.
  • Develop practical demonstrations of proposed solutions.
  • Test newly implemented software and correct any programming flaws that lead to system issues.  
  • Conduct engaging product demonstrations of Mark43 software to federal clients, showcasing its features, functionality, and benefits. 
  • Tailor demonstrations to address specific agency needs, emphasizing how our solution aligns with federal requirements. 
  • Develop a deep understanding of Mark43 software, including its architecture, integrations, and customization capabilities. 
  • Provide technical guidance to clients during pre-sales discussions and post-sales implementation. 
  • Collaborate with federal clients to gather detailed requirements for their law enforcement, public safety, and criminal justice systems. 
  • Translate client needs into technical specifications and use cases. 
  • Design customized solutions that meet federal customer needs and requirements. 
  • Develop technical proposals, including detailed specifications, architecture diagrams, and implementation plans. 
  • Stay informed about federal regulations, security standards (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP), and compliance requirements. 
  • Ensure that our software aligns with federal security and privacy guidelines. 
  • Work closely with product management and engineering teams to ensure alignment of federal strategies with product capabilities. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address client feedback and enhance our software offerings. 

 

What You’ll Need 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or similar role.
  • Proficiency in presenting technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with federal procurement processes and the unique challenges of working within the federal marketplace.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Experience developing IT and cloud infrastructure. 
  • Up-to-date understanding of best practices regarding system security measures.
  • Experience with software engineering, customer experience, and design architecture.
  • Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes.
  • Project management and leadership skills are preferred.
