In this role you will be the technical sales leader for your accounts. You will create possibilities, solve problems and establish trusted relationships with our customers. You will collaborate with the Sales, Customer Success, and Partner Ecosystem teams to discover the customer’s business and technical objectives and help them invest in the right solutions from the Red Hat and Partner Ecosystem portfolio.

Primarily provides pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products/applications/solutions.  Uses in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations.  Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and may prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions.  May create detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutions.  May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client.  May provide consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation.  Report only those incumbents with incentives tied to product sales.  Incumbents matched to this job family must be on a sales incentive plan that is based on individual and/or team sales results (e.g., revenue, bookings, unit sales).  Company bonus and/or cash profit sharing alone are not considered sales incentive plans.  Incumbents on a combination of sales incentive and company bonus and/or cash profit sharing should also be matched here.  This role may come into contact with confidential or sensitive customer information requiring special treatment in accordance with Red Hat policies and applicable privacy laws.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience working with Government Agencies
  • 5+ years of experience in sales engineering, consulting, IT architecture, or equivalent supporting strategic accounts
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a record of developing relationships at engineering, program management, and executive levels
  • Experience working with modern development practices like DevOps or continuous integration
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into proposals, presentations, standard demos, workshops, etc. for customers Solid work ethic; ability to work in a field environment with frequently shifting priorities
  • Willingness to travel, following Red Hat’s COVID-19 guidelines

The following will be considered a plus: 

  • Experience with prioritizing multiple customer requirements simultaneously.
  • Certified in Red Hat technology, such as Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or similar
  • Certified in other technologies like Microsoft, AWS, VMware, Cisco, etc.
  • Experience with automation, including scripting with Ansible, Python, PowerShell, etc.
  • Practical experience with containers, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
  • Practical experience with the cloud providers/hyperscalers
  • Platform 1 or any software factory knowledge
  • Clearances are preferred

The salary range for this position is $162,950.00 - $260,830.00 (inclusive of base pay + target incentive compensation). Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
