Job Description

We are seeking a motivated intern to support our manufacturing teams in conducting feasibility studies focused on the utilization of robotics within our product manufacturing processes. The project aims to investigate how robotics and automation can accelerate production in a small- to medium-scale manufacturing environment, which features a variety of products and assembly groups.

The intern will contribute to a targeted initiative exploring the potential of rapid robot programming, flexible automation, and the integration of artificial intelligence and visual modules to enhance manufacturing efficiency and adaptability.

Primary Skills Developed:

• Hands-on experience with robotics and automation programming.
• Exposure to artificial intelligence applications in manufacturing.
• Understanding of visual module integration for robotics.
• Analytical skills in evaluating manufacturing process improvements.

Project Outcomes:

• Comprehensive feasibility studies outlining opportunities for rapid robot programming and flexible automation.
• Recommendations for integrating AI and visual modules to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Comprehensive documentation of results, proposed solutions, and implementation plans for accelerated production across different assembly groups.

Internship Term Dates:

May/June - August 2026

Expected Work Schedule:

Day/1st -Shift (40 - hours weekly)

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Masters degree in Robotics or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum GPA 4.0 / 5.0 scale.

Desired Qualifications:

• Academic or project-based experience in robotics engineering
• Exposure to artificial intelligence applications in manufacturing.

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $36.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed

This position is also eligible for:

• Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
• Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
• Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services
• GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
