Job Purpose
The Facility Manager is accountable for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all plant infrastructure and utilities supporting manufacturing operations. This role drives world-class facility performance through strong maintenance practices, reliability engineering, cost optimization, and alignment with integrated supply chain objectives.
The position plays a critical role in enabling production continuity, protecting assets, and supporting a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
Champion a zero-harm culture aligned with company safety standards
Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies (HSE, food safety, GMP)
Lead risk assessments, permit-to-work systems, and safe contractor management
Own emergency systems (fire protection, Security system, etc.)
Manage plant security (through 3rd party)
2. Quality and GMP Compliance
Manage facility cleaning program and cleaners
Closely work with plant sanitation team to ensure Mondelez food quality and safety program are complying
Maintain proper documentation of records and participate in various safety and quality audits throughout the year and
3. Utilities & Infrastructure Reliability
Ensure uninterrupted supply of critical utilities (steam, compressed air, water, HVAC, power distribution)
Drive reliability of infrastructure systems using preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
Own and reduce utility-related downtime impacting production
Monitor system performance using KPIs and condition-based tools
4. Maintenance Strategy & Execution
Develop and implement best-in-class maintenance programs aligned with reliability principles (PM, PdM, BDE, RCM)
Utilize CMMS (e.g., SAP PM) for planning, scheduling, and execution discipline
Eliminate reactive maintenance by improving planning accuracy and backlog control
Ensure effective shutdown planning and execution
5. Asset Management & Capital Planning
Develop long-term asset strategies and infrastructure master plans
Support capital projects related to facilities and utilities (capacity, modernization, compliance)
Optimize lifecycle cost of assets through reliability and maintenance excellence
Support site master planning and future capability expansion
6. Energy & Sustainability Leadership
Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives aligned with corporate goals
Monitor and reduce consumption of electricity, gas, water, and compressed air
Lead carbon footprint reduction initiatives and waste minimization
Ensure compliance with environmental standards and reporting
7. Contractor & Service Partner Management
Manage third-party contractors and service providers with clear performance expectations
Implement all maintenance and general procurement of sub-contractor services, schedules and installations, and oversee that such repairs are accomplished in a safe and timely manner.
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and technical standards
Optimize contractor spend while building internal capability
Drive accountability through KPIs and service level agreements
8. Cost Management & Financial Performance
Manage facility OPEX and participate in developing facilities CAPEX budgets
Identify and execute cost optimization opportunities without compromising reliability
Track financial performance and deliver within cost targets
9. Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
Apply Lean, TPM, and reliability engineering principles to facility operations
Eliminate losses related to utilities and infrastructure inefficiencies
Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and problem-solving culture
Use data and digital tools to improve decision-making
10. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
Support operational targets (safety, quality, delivery, cost)
Act as a key contributor to site leadership and transformation initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or Equivalent Experience
3rd or 2nd class power engineer preferred.
7–12 years of experience in facility maintenance and management in FMCG or food manufacturing
Strong expertise in utilities systems (boilers, refrigeration, compressed air, electrical distribution)
Be the subject matter expert (SME) for plant facility equipment operation and maintenance
Experience with SAP PM or similar CMMS
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards
