Job Description Summary

               

This position requires constant monitoring of the batter system. It requires the ability to operate and troubleshoot the batter and condiment equipment.

Job Description

  • Maintains safe work practices at all times and actively participates in all safety programs.

  • Understands and follows all safety rules and procedures to prevent food safety hazards and ensure a safe work environment for all employees.

  • Looks up and interprets 0A Specifications for batter and condiment accurately.

  • Understands product codes and labels on batter and condiment tickets and uses the manifest to track inventory effectively.

  • Safely opens, handles, and hangs batter bags following proper procedures.

  • Monitors and adjusts sugar mix tank concentration as needed.

  • Adds condiment to the formed line hopper when required.

  • Maintains appropriate dry batter hopper and auger levels throughout the shift.

  • Assembles and disassembles batter equipment when necessary.

  • Communicates equipment or process issues promptly to the appropriate personnel.

  • Maintains required sanitation standards in the work area at all times.

  • Completes all required paperwork accurately and on time.

  • Understands the chemicals used in the processing area and the hazards associated with them.

  • Performs assigned duties during cut changes and defrost procedures as required.

  • Cleans under and around the batter and sugar mix areas to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Willing to learn operation of fryers. 

  • Must be able to use computer to enter checks with Military time 

  • Tools and equipment used: high pressure hose, flash lights, hot hose, shovels, scrapers, foaming system, brooms, squeegees, telephones, ladders (roll around stairs), buckets, control panels/terminals, stein cups, stop watches and waste carts.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or experience in sanitation or processing operator job. Any food processing experience is a plus. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write accurate information on simple forms in English. Ability to effectively present or listen to information in one-on-one and small group situations with all other employees of the organization in English. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percent. 

 

REASONABLE ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Good decision-making and troubleshooting are necessary.

The working conditions will be hot, humid, dusty, noisy, wet, and you'll have to deal with vibration. You must have the ability to walk up and down stairs and on a concrete floor throughout the day. 

The ability to stand and walk is a must due to the constant monitoring of the equipment in use. Ascending/descending stairs is also crucial, especially at break times.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate for this role is listed below.
