About the role
As a Data Analyst you will join the Data Conversion Services Team with the Plan Services department and be responsible for managing the conversion of client data from various record-keeping systems into Corebridge Financial’s proprietary systems. The Data Analyst participates in meetings and ongoing communications to collaborate with the record-keeper and internal project management and client data end users. With minimal guidance and direction, the Data Analyst participates in conversion design sessions with the client and produce design documents and mapping/transformation documents. The Analyst will research, analyze and recommend data conversion strategies for complex retirement plans, analyze client data in the format it is received, identify data deficiencies, define remediation of deficiencies and construct a statement of work that properly outlines the conversion process to reformat into Corebridge Financial’s data requirements. With limited support, the Data Analyst will facilitate the migration and testing of static data and transaction data for the plan conversion. The Data Analyst must be able to effectively communicate Corebridge Financial’s data requirements with the client, record-keeper or project team, negotiate or consult the client or recordkeeper to best practices and perform a code-based programming solution to achieve a successful data conversion. The Data Analyst is expected to be a go-to team member for each conversion while producing high quality and consistent on-time results.
The Data Analyst will have full accountability for the execution of the data conversion development life-cycle and methodology laid out by the project lead. This includes requirements solution design, client acceptance, timeline creation, implementation, unit testing, deployment tools, and maintenance. The Data Analyst is responsible for building tools that transform massive amounts of data into the Corebridge Financial product requirements and formatting. The Data Analyst will be able to identify deficiencies and have an eye for efficiency through automation and be experienced in SQL, Microsoft Access, Excel and proficient with ETL tools. The Data Analyst will be expected to follow through on recommendations and directives provided by project leaders.
There are other responsibilities that include developing applications, modules, and reports for internal and external business partners SQL Server, MS Access, Cognos and Discovery. The Data Analyst will perform data migration audits, reconciliation and exception reporting as necessary. With appropriate training and guidance, the Data Analyst will be expected to demonstrate a combination of business knowledge; where they must be able to understand the logic behind data as explained by senior team leaders, including knowing where it came from, what it means, and the data's end purpose, and the technology impacts.
